Doubling

This morning we have had a challenge from the Giant Octopus asking us to double his food because he was feeling extra hungry. We learnt that when we double we need to add the same amount to fund the answer. Lots of us chose to use magic gems to help us and we also practised using our fingers.

We have been absolute superstars doing this job!

Our New Classroom!

The children were very excited to see their new classroom today. Our question is 'What Would You Miss?' We have loved playing and exploring in our new classroom, especially in the shipwreck and the giant octopus.

PE

We had so much fun in PE today. We worked in teams to practise our skipping and bat and ball skills. We also used the hoopla hoops which was lots of fun. As well as this we had to move across the benches in any way except walking over it and we had to find exciting ways to weave throughout the cones.

Subtraction

Today we learnt how to subtract or takeaway. We counted out 6 objects and then took 2 of them away to find out how many were left.

Number Bond Fun

This week we have been trying to remember number bonds to 10 with the help of Farmer Pete. We absolutely love doing the Farmer Pete song, especially when we can pretend to be the sheep to help us do the actions.

Whilst doing our number bonds we were using lots of the brain skills because we needed to collaborate with each other by ordering ourselves from 1-10 so we were stood in the right places.

Adding

Today we learnt how we can solve addition number sentences using a variety of methods. We really enjoyed finding out the different ways we could add amounts. Altogether we practised using dots and objects to add and also by counting on our fingers. Then we practised this independently with our friends.
