Persuading the Giant

Today we have had another very exciting day trying to persuade the giant again! We really hope he will bring our bean stalks back tomorrow as we have tried to hard. We have written notes, made traps and even made some jokes to humour the giant. 

The Giant

Today we arrived into school to find the big nasty giant had stolen our beans. In order to get them back we had to think of lots of different ways to persuade the giant to return them. We hope we have tried hard enough. 

Some of us decided to make bean stalks and ladders so we could climb into the clouds to get them back. 

Some of us wanted to make maps to help track down the beans. We also wrote some letters to the giant and drew him some pictures and posted them. 

Writing about our beans

Our beans have been growing very quickly over the last 2 weeks. This morning they were waiting for us when we came into school. Our challenge was to write about the bean stalk with what we had observed.

We enjoyed phonics outside under the trees today and wrote some amazing independent sentences about a different pictures.

Growing Beans Update

This morning we checked on our beans and they are beginning to grow. The children noticed that some are tall and some are short.

"They have grown because we put them in the sun and watered them."

We talked about how we could measure them and decided a ruler would be best. We found that the tallest was 11cm.

100% Attendance

A huge well done to the children who got wristbands for 100% attendance during the spring term. (January-March)

Baking Cakes

The children could make fairy cakes today at choosing time. They carefully followed the recipe to measure out their ingredients, mixed them together and spooned them into the cake cases.
